CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Yoga means to yoke or unite. In its most simplistic form, yoga is a system of specific poses (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation exercises designed to heal, purify and bring awareness and balance to both body and mind.

 

Each balanceYoga session will include flow vinyasas and yoga postures as well as focused breathing and intentional relaxation to promote optimal health, well-being and balance.

Aerial Yoga - (No classes at this time -Private Aerial Yoga Sessions are avialable.) Aerial Yoga is a modern style of yoga that incorporates a soft fabric hammock to explore alignment, release chronic tension, and experience lightness and freedom in your practice.

Aerial yoga helps you to move more freely, with less effort, by counteracting gravity. Suspension in the air releases tension on the bones and muscles, increasing flexibility and deepening your practice. Suspended yoga strengthens core muscles and increases spinal and shoulder flexibility.

*Aerial Yoga classes are not included in the studio class pass. Drop-ins are $15

 

We encourage you to begin your aerial yoga journey with “Intro to Aerial Yoga”, “Gentle Elevation” or “All Levels Aerial Yoga”. Even if you are advanced in standard yoga, we recommend starting with these all-level classes for your comfort and more ease in your practice, as you are learning.

Gentle Morning Yoga - A gentler version of our Yoga Flow class, this class will be the perfect start to your day. Each class will include Sun Salutations, standing postures and a floor series to encourage greater mind-body-spirit balance. This class is appropriate for every level of practitioner.

SUNsational Sunday Yoga Flow - An energetic class utilizing vinyasas (breath synchronized movement) to invigorate the body and mind. Each class will include Sun Salutations, standing postures and a floor series to encourage students to move deeper into their practice. This class will be appropriate for every level of practitioner.

Vinyasa Flow - Vinyasa Flow is a flowing, energizing yoga practice that connects movement with breath.  Classes feature several energizing sun salutations (As and Bs), standing poses, hip openers, and twists with the potential for arm balances & inversions.  Classes will end by cooling down in seated poses before savasana.

Goals of this class include building core strength, stamina, flexibility and balance as well as improving mindfulness of breath.  Vinyasa Flow is designed for beginner or intermediate yogis who find that sweating and movement helps lead them to a deeper relaxation.  Various poses and modifications are offered so that participants can choose their level.  Some familiarity with yoga is helpful but not required.

Yoga Vibes – Flow into the weekend with an energetic class designed to awaken mind, body and spirit! Each class will include Sun Salutations, standing postures and a floor series to encourage students to move deeper into their practice. This class will be Co-Taught by the balanceYoga Teaching Team. The “vibe” may be mellow or funky…either way, this class will offer the perfect opportunity to strengthen and open your body while calming and quieting the mind. This class is appropriate for every level of practitioner.
